Journal of Engineering and Sciences (JES) is a multidisciplinary journal of Science & Technology (S & T) and Engineering published annually by the Research Management Unit (RMU), Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara, Nepal. It is a peer reviewed journal which welcomes both the theoretical and experimental first-hand research and review articles.

Aim/Objective

Journal of Engineering and Sciences, the official journal of the Research Management Unit (RMU), Pashchimanchal Campus, Pokhara is devoted exclusively to science and technology advancements, especially on the innovative aspects of the multifaceted disciplines in engineering.

The RMU was founded in 2013 with the aim to develop research, entrepreneurship and innovative capability in respect to both the quality and quantity of academic research in faculty members, staff (if any), and students. Hence, the RMU activities continuously boost the campus as a leading higher education institution, in the field of engineering, science, and technology, in the Gandaki Province and ultimately nationally and internationally. It also provides mini-research grants to potential students and faculties. Through its publications and its sponsorship of technical conferences it enhances the academic activities and the research culture.

JES welcomes manuscripts presenting information not previously published in journals on any aspect of interdisciplinary (science and engineering) research, development, application, measurement or policy. The submitted manuscripts may take the form of reports of original studies or reviews of significant prior work in a given area. All manuscripts are subject to reviews to assure accuracy, clarity, and long-term value.

Submission system

First-time users: Please click on the word “Register” in the navigation bar at the top of the page and enter the requested information. Upon successful registration, you will see a message “Registration Success”. NOTE: After receiving this notification, DO NOT REGISTER AGAIN. Simply use that information to login. Usernames and passwords can be changed after registration.

Repeat users: Please click the “Login” button from the menu above and proceed as appropriate.

Authors: Please click the “Login” button from the menu above and login to the system as “Author.” You may then submit your manuscript and track its progress through the system.

To change your username and/or password: Once you are registered, you may change your contact information, username and/or password at any time. Simply log in to the system and click on “Update My Information” in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

Authors are requested to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has neither been previously published nor under consideration, accepted/under peer review, of already submitted to another journal.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect document file format.
  • The main text is single-spaced, Times New Roman, font 12.
  • All illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate places, rather than at the end.
  • The graphics and images used must be of high Popular formats like JPEG and PNG are accepted.
  • Appropriate citations with references are required as the outlined in the journal template

Authors Guidelines

  1. Type face, font size and spacing
  • Must be written in English in Times New Roman, font 12.
  • Scientific name should be in italics.
  • Follow the journal template.
  1. Type of paper
  • Original research papers and review articles are welcomed. They should contain an Abstract (of up to 150 words) and a Conclusions section as well.
  • Submission declaration
  • Submission of an article implies that the work described has neither been published before elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), nor under consideration for publication elsewhere in English or in any other language.
  • For any conflict of interest between authors and others, the corresponding author is fully responsible. The journal is not responsible for the concepts, ideas, and views reflected in the articles published in the journal. The article will be withdrawn if any violation of the ethical issue is found.
  • Before the submission, it must be ensured that all authors have approved the content of the submitted article manuscript.
  • A short biography of the authors is to be submitted for all accepted articles. The biography is expected to include
    • Full names of the authors and their current positions,
    • Education background of the author with graduating institution and year of graduation
    • Experience, awards, research interests and professional society memberships

Submission charge

The journal does not charge authors as article processing charges, submission fees, or any other kind of fee.

Copywrite and permission

The authors maintain the copyright for all publications published in JES. The material is available for free in https://jes.ioepas.edu.np and as per the open access policy of NepJOL that all articles are published under. The article may also be cited and used again as long as the original published version is acknowledged. These guidelines ensure that the authors are given due credit while allowing for the greatest possible use and visibility of the work.

Peer review process

All manuscripts undergo a rigorous review by a minimum of one expert. Peer review comments are confidential and will only be disclosed only upon the expressed agreement of the reviewer. The reviewers should not currently work together with the co-authors of the article that has been submitted.

The authors will be informed with the decision of the reviewers, which can be

  1. publishable after minor correction.
  • publishable after major correction.
  1. not suitable for publication.

The authors must address each comment from the reviewers in a point-by-point fashion. A detail and clear response must be provided to each of the points.

Once accepted, the final version of the manuscript will undergo a final copy-editing and be forwarded for publication.

Article structure

Article structure will be as suggested in the template.

Title page information

  • Title of the article, List of Author(s) with affiliations, Abstract, Keywords
  • The title must be specific, relevant and concise. Abbreviated or short forms must not be used in the title.

Reference style

The reference style will be as suggested in the template.

Scope

The scope of the journal lies in but is not limited to the contents and capacity of Science, Technology, and Engineering. It publishes research articles with novel synthesis, findings, and scientific advances; review articles with an overview of recent thinking and achievements in a given theme; and communications with clear messages aimed at conflict resolution in a given topic. The journal embraces statistically analyzed data-based scientific outcomes, recent trends in engineering technology, and cutting-edge principles of current science and technology advancements. The journal welcomes articles with notable contributions to the acquisition of knowledge and its measurable exposition.
